NET4GAS chooses Dial Telecom in an 83 M tender

The contract includes primarily the administration of the existing network infrastructure of the energy company. This five-year cooperation will also include participation in on-going, as well as planned, projects for development of the WAN/LAN networks. Within this contract, Dial Telecom will secure the operations of more than 160 locations of NET4GAS in 11 regions, in total, with 350 active network devices and  1,600 kilometers of long-distance and local-area optical and metalic cable routes.

Advanced requirements for security

The provided solution  of the WAN administration is rare, particularly for its demands for high security and services availability, which reflects in the final level of the SLA between the two entities. The requirements for strict security arise from the responsibility of NET4GAS for the energy security of the Czech Republic and trouble-free national, as well as international, transit and deliveries of gas overlapping to the whole Central European region.

Jiří Kutílek, the manager of the retail department of Dial Telecom, says about the provided network security technology: “The solution to the network security for NET4GAS is, of course, a multilevel one, and comes from the needs and identified risks. This security is both physical, from the viewpoint of the location of the key infrastructure, and logical, from the viewpoint of the network topology.“

What Dial Telecom also implements are measures related to redundancy of the key components, management of IT, as well as non-IT, access, IT security and proactive monitoring.

What also played a role in meeting all qualification criteria was the 13-year-long experience of Dial Telecom with the provision of data services to both Czech and foreign partners and the previous successful cooperation with NET4GAS.

The launch of the services is planned for the beginning of May 2013.
