Glossary of terms - Fast Ethernet
A specification of the Ethernet network with a transmission speed of 100 Mb/s, defined by the IEEE 802.3u specification. It uses the same framework format and access method as the standard Ethernet. The use of different transmission media (UTP cables, optical cables) is determined by the 100BaseTX, 100BaseT4 and 100BaseFX specifications.
